Fair Time!!

Wayne County Fair time!!! The fair is always a good time to see family and friends from good ol' Wayne! This year we were able to go up on Thursday so we got to enjoy all of the festivities and since Emma is older she was able to join in on all of the fun! Here she is hanging out with her cousins at the Rodeo! They played with her lots and helped entertain her since the rodeo couldn't keep her attention...or mine! It was a pretty lame rodeo in my opinion..but still fun to go!

Lance giving Em's some candy they caught during the parade!
Lex, Emma, and Mitch waiting for the parade to begin..the sun was bright so Ems had her eyes
closed!
Daph and Ty just relaxing!
Look at this HAIR!! It actually was cute before the parade started but with the wind this is how it looked afterwards....Yikes!

Before the Derby we had a bbq with all the fam at Shane and Nycole's house, which was lots of fun! The little girls thought it would be fun to dress Emma up in Haylie's princess attire...they were so excited to have her walk out and show us! Emma wasn't so sure about the wings and crown! But she sure looked cute!

Destiny, Emma, Lexi, and Kierra

The boys enjoyed playing horse shoes...Andrew and Ty were on a team to begin with and lets just say the "City" boys didn't do so well..maybe next time!
Shane has gone to a lot of work in their yard and it looks gorgeous!! He built this patio as you walk out their doors which is all decked out with his sink, grill, fridge, and lounge area! Thanks Shane and Nycole for letting us enjoy your home!!

The derby was lots of fun..loud, stinky, dusty, sunny all enjoyable when you are enjoying cars crash!! Thank you Mom and Dad for watching Ems for us!! Thanks Bill for the bunny ears!!
Two cars pushed into the dirt right by us!! This green car was awesome and won!

See the poop!!! Ty bought some fake poop at the park earlier during the day and would place it on the grass and watch people walk around it, step on it and check their shoes, ect ect....it was sooo funny!! We were laughing tons and tons...can't you just imagine it...fake dog poop! Well Mitch decided to bring his 'poop' to the derby..they would place it right where people had to walk and of course had many laughs watching everyone! Cheap great entertainment..Thanks Ty!!
While we were at the derby our little climber thought she was big enough to reach in and get a toy from the toy box and in she went...this is her little black eye she got! You can't see it really well it looks darker in person...it didn't slow her down one bit though she still thought she should be able to climb and explore everything...my mom had to follow her all over trying to keep her down!! Thanks MOM!!

While we were in Bicknell I finally got to go out with Andrew and shoot his hand gun. He had taken it out to shoot before when we were there but I hadn't ever shot it so I wanted to go and try, and actually I didn't do too bad!! It was really fun..very loud but fun!!

Thanks babe for taking me!

My 5 year reunion from high school!! Wow how time flies!! We enjoyed getting together with a few of the people I graduated with and catching up to see how everyone was doing! There were only 15 of us there so we missed everyone that didn't come but had fun seeing everyone that was there!! By the way THANKS NICOLE for going to all the work to get everything put together for us..it was lots of fun!!

My 1 Year Old Girl!!

It just doesn't seem possible that a year has already gone by and my baby is now 1!!! It has been such an incredible year having Emma in our little family. She has such a fun personality and keeps us going non stop! She brings such an indescribable joy to us! Who knew as adults we would get so excited when she first rolled, smiled, clapped, sat up, crawled, walked, folded her arms, said "da da" and "ma ma" and so many other things! She is such a blessing and we love her so very much and feel honored and humbled to be her parents!
A few tid bits about Emma at 1:
She is starting to walk all over the place;)
Saying "mommy, ma ma, da da, daddy, ba ba, dg (dog), bl (ball)"
She call everything ma ma until I correct her!
She loves to point at everything, and will point at mommy and daddy (only in pictures though..silly girl), at the light, her hair, when you ask where Jesus is she points at the picture of him, and she almost hyperventilates when you ask her where the baby is...this is a picture frame that has some random little girl in it, but Emma LOVES her and loves to hold the picture and look at her 'friend'!
She climbs on the couch, in the window, on the toilet, in baskets..pretty much anywhere her little leg can get high enough!
LOVES to dance...any time she hears music she just can't help but dance;)
She gives the best 'hugs and kisses' especially to daddy...he doesn't even have to ask for kisses she just knows he loves them;)
Her favorite toys are balls...she will play forever chasing them around, anything that makes noise, loves looking at books, and is in heaven playing with all of her new toys from her b-day!
She is the best little eater...loves basically everything..especially her veggies and meat!!!
Crazy ticklish when daddy gets her with his scruff...cutest giggle!
Little social butterfly! She has absolutely no stranger anxiety...she would walk off with anyone and not even wonder where mommy and daddy went!
So HAPPY..I get from people all the time "she is such a happy baby" "does she ever not smile" "look at that smile"...I do have to admit she really is a happy baby even when she doesn't get a nap she takes a lot before she gets grumpy...but it does happen!!!
Absolutely LOVES to wave at everyone!
Loves being outside in the sun, rain, wind, stroller rides, bike rides, basically anything to go out!
Tub time is one of her favorite activities at the end of the day!
Leads the music every Sunday during sacrament;)
Mommy's little helper with cleaning (dumps soap out to have mommy wipe up and clean), cooking ( sits on the counter and makes messes;), and laundry (rides in basket and folds or ;)unfolds clothes)...best helper in the World!!!
Loves to wear necklaces all over the house!
My list could go on and on...but I will stop!!!
Her birthday landed on a Wednesday this year but we wanted to celebrate it in Salt Lake with our families so on her actual b-day Andrew made cupcakes and she got to have three of her very own! Messy messy!
Then on Saturday we celebrated with Andrew's family and my mom and day and daph's family all came! We had it at Andrew's house and enjoyed every minute!! With a yummy food and partying!! Here Emma is watching daddy intently lighting her candles.
When we started singing to her...her eyes lit up and she was all smiles, just watching everyone looking at her and singing...priceless;)
Trying to blow out her candles! I love this picture because you can see Dan, Kaye, and my Mom all doing the 'blowing' sign;)
She sneaked a little cake before we cut it for her;)
Feeding Daddy some cake, and dropping lots on the floor! Sammy (the dog) loved having Emma there for a few days...poor thing she fed him everything she ate...I am surprised he wasn't completely sick!!
Present time! She was spoiled rotten and got many many fun new toys, clothes, and books! She has played with everything and seems to love it all!! She is giving her new dolly named "Emma" a hug before even opening it up completely! Even her new ball got some loves!
Some of the crew at the party!
The middle of everything...soaking up the attention!

The day was great to celebrate our little ones first birthday surrounded by people who love her! Thanks everyone for coming and for all the love you give us and EMMA!! We love you!

Oquirrh Mountain Temple

We were able to attend the temple open house again however this time it was with my Mom, Dad, Daph, Ty, Mitch, and Lexi. It was beautiful as always and so peaceful. When we entered the Celestial room, because of the amount of people there you couldn't stop moving to look around, but I heard Mitch say "I could just stay in here all day!" Lexi later informed us that her favorite room was the sealing room because of the mirrors that you could see forever in! These two are such great kids and amazing examples!! We love you guys, it was fun going with you!!

4th of July Activities!!

The 4th of July has always been my favorite holiday! I have always love going to my grandparents house in Richfield and getting to see all of my cousins who we usually only got to see at this time or even every other year on the 4th, it was always a treat and still is! It is amazing how big our family is getting with all the little kids! It is fun to get to visit and be around fam! I have to admit I think we have a pretty dang fun family!!! I was so excited for Emma to get to hang out with lots of kids around her age! I realized though that is is CRAZY BUSY! The other kids would sit and play...not so much Ems...she liked to explore all the new places! She sure is busy but I love watching her and imagining what that little mind is thinking!
We just drove up from Cedar in time for the parade and to have all the festivities of the day begin. Emma and my dad watching the parade! My dad was so cute with Ems he held her the whole time during the parade, not giving her up to anyone (even my mom;)) he would take her up to see the floats, let her wear his hat, and just entertained her! She kept pointing at everything heading down the street and enjoyed her first parade! Thanks DAD!!
All who it started with! My grandma and grandpa, we sure love you!!

The Christensen clan enjoying the parade!

My favorite Cuz;) Marisa, with her adorable little Dax!

Ems and her favorite cousins!

There were five babies close to Emma's age just like it was when we were little! Here she is with Sariah and Zoey, Sariah being 14 months, Ems 11 months, and Zoey 9 months! Such cute girls! It was impossible to get them to all look at me!
After the parade and park festivities we always go to my grandparents house, hang out, visit, and then have a bbq! Always fun with yummy food!!

This swimming pool has been around since I was Emma's age if not before that, I have pictures of me doing exactly what she is...crazy huh?! She LOVED this soooo much, and didn't want to get out! I didn't bring any swim attire thinking she wouldn't be getting wet so poor thing had to play in the water in her diaper and eventually nothing, since it blew up to a massive ball!!

They had a slip-n-slide for the older kids and they had tons of fun with it! They put dish soap all over it to make it more slippery and laughed and played for hours...the evidence was on the grass...pretty muddy! Good thing it grows back;)
Mitch and Shelton racing up the slide!

You can't tell in this picture but she actually really liked sliding down it!! Look at that diaper;)

Mitch giving Ems a ride on the teeter totter! This too they have had since we were little, I remember many times getting hurt on it!

Emma and Zoey were so fun to watch except Ems doesn't understand the idea of being soft yet so she would touch a little rough, but Zoey didn't seem too bothered!

Every year the Madsen's play a game of soccer against a family there in Richfield that the older kids grew up with and it has become this fun event for everyone to get involved in! It was a long game this year and we ended up with a tie! It was entertaining and fun to watch! We left with two injured ankles on the Madsen side, better luck next year!
Here is Andrew and Mitch chasing down the ball!

Kierra started putting the dead grass on Emma's head and Ems thought it was really fun so she started throwing it up to put it on her head herself..silly girl!

Ems being the center of attention getting covered with dried grass by her cute cousins!
Ems and I getting ready to watch the fire works! Yes this little lady stayed up through the WHOLE thing, just relaxing and watching! She didn't get scared one bit! On the drive home we probably only got two blocks and she was tuckered right out..tiring day for a little one who played so hard!
Just thought I would throw these in!
We were so excited the other day when it started pouring rain here in Cedar! This doesn't happen very often, it was crazy loud and Ems LOVED it! First she just watched it through the window then I decided I should let her go and actually enjoy it!

She first just tested it with her feet and hands watching it pour from the rain gutter but eventually she crawled out into it and love every minute, giggling and all!! In this pic it looks like she has a massive bruise on her leg, don't worry I don't beat my child! There was sidewalk chalk that rubbed off and got all over her leg;)
I finally had to call it quits when she was soaking and shivering, even though she really didn't want to go in! Lots of fun for her first time playing in the rain!!
